RIVER BEACH OF AGROAL
The river beach of Agroal won in 2021 the right to fly the Blue Flag. The bathing season is usually from June/July to mid-September.
From the cold thermal waters of the Nabão River, the river beach of Agroal was born, which has a reduced depth. Belonging to the municipality of Ourém, this beach is characterized by its clean, but equally cold, water.
The Nabão River is a tributary of the Zêzere River. It is born in the parish of Ansião, in the town of Olhos de Água. It is joined further down by the source of Agroal. With an extension of 665km, this place is a paradise in the middle of nature that has practically no directions on how to get there. This beach has many accesses and infrastructures that make it easier for people to stay: blue flag, accessibility for people with reduced mobility, lifeguard, free bathrooms, showers, green spaces, picnic tables, 2 snack bars and a restaurant, vendors street vendors, permanent policing and parking. On the other hand, there are some restrictions that aim to facilitate the stay of bathers: jumping or diving into the pool is prohibited, animals are prohibited, fishing is prohibited and access stairs are prohibited.
The river beach of Agroal is known for its therapeutic properties in areas ranging from gastrointestinal problems to skin diseases. The now existing natural pool helps people relax in the area’s cold, thermal waters.
