Alamal River Beach
The bathing season at the river beach of Alamal usually starts in mid-June and ends in mid-September.
With an enveloping beauty of green shores and proximity to Belver Castle, this place is very special. It has all the conditions for you to enjoy and enjoy: showers outside, bathroom with showers inside. It also has a car park and a bar for coffee or lunch. There is also the possibility of renting pedaloes or canoes to cruise along the Tagus and practice more extreme sports such as water skiing. There is also an area for camping if you want.
There is no shortage of walking tours to discover the area surrounding the river beach. It is one of the blue flag river beaches in Portugal and the only one in the heart of the Tagus. It was also distinguished with the award for Accessible Beach (for people with mobility difficulties).
Located on the left banks of the river Tagus, the tranquility of the waters is only possible thanks to the location between two dams (Belver and Fratel) that invite you to relax and enjoy the sun’s rays.
You can also stroll through the Alamal gardens, practice river sports, nature walks or mountain biking routes. There are also conditions for playing soccer or beach volleyball.
The beach has: pedestrian access, organized parking, access to the bathing area, walkways on the sand, adapted toilets, access to the first aid station and walkways of Alamal.
This is an accessible beach, with a good atmosphere and security.
